5 Nigerien Prison Escapees Arrested In Kaduna
Two convicted prisoners from Niger Republic who are serving life sentences and three others serving various jail terms who escaped from the Niamey Central Prison in Niger Republic have been arrested
by the Nigeria Police in Kaduna State.
The state police commissioner, Alhaji Umar Shehu, who disclosed this in his maiden press briefing yesterday, gave the names of the arrested suspects as Musa Abdullahi, 35, Hamma Mohammed, 32, Adamu Dansharo, 33, Abubakar Hussaini, 23 and Muhammadu Shehu, 28.
Shehu who was recently posted to the state as commissioner, explained that the escapee prisoners who were said to be terrorising people around Barnawa area of Kaduna south local government were arrested following intelligence information.
In another development, the police said it has recovered a Toyota Prado SUV registered NUS 479 EY which was snatched at gun point by armed bandits.
