Market Cap Gains N37billion On Tuesday
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on a bullish note on Tuesday as the market capitalisation of the listed entities rose to N12.158 trillion gaining by N37 billion or 0.31 percent from yesterday's closing figure of N12.121 trillion.
The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally appreciated by 116.62 points or 0.31 percent to close at 38,054.23 basis points as against Monday's closing figure of 37,937.61 basis points.
The top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday were led by Transcorp with 67.96 million shares worth N132.55 million.
It was followed by UBA with 26.89 million shares worth N219.13 million while WAPIC was third with 26.29 million shares valued at N23.66 million.
Multiverse was fourth with 25 million shares worth N12.5 million while ETI was last on the chart with 20.89 million volume of shares worth N290.50 million.
PZ topped the top five losers chart with a loss of N0.59k in its share price to close at N37.66k per share.
Guinness was second with a loss of N0.50k in its share price to close at N240.00 per share while GTB was in third position losing N0.37k in its share price to close at N26.03k per share.
Nigerian Breweries was fourth shedding N0.20k in its share price to close at N175.00 per share while Evans Medical was last on the chart with a loss of N0.16k in its share price to close at N3.22k per share.
However, Nestle was ahead of others in the gainers chart with a gain of N24.81k to close at N1, 210.00 per share.
Forte Oil was second with a share price gain of N8.02k to close at N86.32k per share while Presco was third appreciating by N1.00 in its share price to close at N37.00 per share.
Ashaka Cement was fourth with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N23.00 per share while GSK was last on the chart with a gain of N0.99k in its share price to close at N67.00 per share.
In all, investors traded 319.99 million shares valued at N2.78 billion in 5,043 deals as against the 254.64 million shares worth N3.40 billion that exchanged hands on Monday in 4,593 deals.
