AmericanahNigeria award winning writer, Chimamanda Ngozi
Adichie will, on November 29, visit Nairobi for the 10th anniversary of Kwani
Trust and
also the launch of her latest novel ‘Americanah’.
Adichie, who will be the guest speaker at the event, will
speak on Africa, its 50 years of literature and the place of contemporary
writing.
She is also expected to shed more light on African writers
since she is regarded as ‘the most prominent’ of young anglophone authors who
have succeeded in attracting a new generation of readers to African literature.
The 10th Year Anniversary Benefit Gala anniversary will take
place at Westhouse Museum where Adichie will be launching her latest work. She
will be joined on stage by another Kenyan writer, Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor.
