Chuba Wilberforce Okadigbo, academic and politician, was born in Ogbunike, Oyi Anambra State. He was Senate President (1999-2000), (December 17, 1941 – September 25, 2003).

In 1942, General Muhammadu Buhari (7th Head of State of Nigeria Dec 1983- Aug 1985) was born in Daura, Katsina State.

In 1984 Michael Iheonukara Okpara died. He was a political leader and Premier of Eastern Nigeria during the First Republic (1959 to 1966). He was the nation’s youngest premier (39 years old).
