Information reaching us from Akure, the Ondo state capital has it that, the Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida is dead.
According to sources from the Deji's Palace in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, the Monarch who was installed in 2010 died in the early hours of today (Sunday) after a brief illness.
A Source in the family who preferred to remain annonymous revealed that late Oba Adesida last attended a public function in Lagos where he celebrated the marriage ceremony of his son, Adetunji Oluwagbemiga two weekends ago.
Another source at Deji's Palace in Akure told our correspondent in Yoruba language that, "Oba ti w'aja' meaning, the 'the King is gone'.
He also disclosed that the Monarch died in his palace after efforts by palace guards to save him failed.
The Monarch who was born into the Ojijigogun royal family ascended the throne on August 12, 2013. He was recalled from London, after the former Deji was dethroned for abusing his wife.
