Military Destroys More Terrorists Camp In Borno

An unspecified number of terrorists have been killed after the military raided Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State. The military further
revealed that the insurgents had planned to detonate a large catchment of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in some Borno towns and villages.

Several cars belonging to the alleged terrorists were destroyed during the raid.

Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Muhammad Dole, confirmed the incident from Maiduguri.

“Several Boko Haram Terrorists were killed and others were fatally injured. A total of 13 vehicles and several motorcycles belonging to the terrorists in both operations were destroyed. Some of the vehicles destroyed were containing improvised Explosive Device (IED) meant to be detonated in some towns and villages within Borno State. Several arms and ammunitions were also captured,” he said.

He revealed that previously the insurgents around Gamboru-Ngala-Mafa, Dikwa and Marte roads had arbitrarily blocked road and caused havoc to motorists and adjacent villages, insisting that the Bama- Kelani-Pulka-Firgi general areas were hitherto infested with incessant insurgents who had variously attacked and looted and caused panic and anxiety among the people of the area.

He added that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Obadiah Ethan, expressed "his sincere appreciation to the good citizens of Borno State for their cooperation and understanding.”
