Scores Killed, 15 Arrested in Military Raid in Yobe

The 3 Division Special Operations security outfit in Yobe said it had raided Boko Haram camps in Gujba Local Government Area where 40 students of the College of Agriculture
were killed.

Capt. Lazarus Eli, the operations spokesman, said this on Thursday in Damaturu while addressing newsmen.
He said that the outfit carried out air and ground raids on the camp, killing scores of the insurgents.

“We have also arrested 15 suspected members of the sect in different locations in the area.

``Investigations are going on and the suspects are helping us with vital information,” Eli said.

He said the outfit had re-strategized its operational tactics to ensure total victory over insurgency in the state.

The spokesman said the operation was on going in the area to comb out the insurgents thoroughly.

Eli appealed to the public to offer ``timely information'' on suspicious movements in the localities for quick response “because information and time are two key factors to our operations”.

``We have enjoyed good partnership with the public, and we are working on ways to strengthen this partnership and confidence for a collective fight against terrorism in the state.”
