4 Injured As Car Rams Into Catholic Church During Service In Lagos

Four persons were injured Sunday morning at the Church of Assumption, Agboroko, Lagos as a car lost control and rammed into the church building during the morning mass.

We exclusively gathered that the owner of the black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) was trying to reverse when its brake failed, broke into the church wall and headed straight to the altar.

"I am still in shock. It looks like a film to me." A church member told our
correspondent at the scene of the incident.

"The mass was still on and suddenly we heard a loud noise. At first, I thought it was an explosion and when I looked back, I saw a car running towards the altar, scattering chairs and hitting worshipers."

"Many bones were broken, only God will rescue them," the source added.

It was gathered that victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, but three of them were rejected and referred to Igbobi Hospital because of the degree of the injuries.

When we visited the site, many members were seen discussing the tragic incident.
