President Goodluck Jonathan has commiserated with Nigeria’s
leading entrepreneur, Aliko Dangote, on the death of his eldest brother,
Garba
Dangote.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday
by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati.
Garba Dangote died in Kano on Thursday.
The statement quoted the President as joining Dangote and
members of his family, in praying that “Almighty Allah will receive his late
brother’s soul and grant him eternal rest in Paradise”.
It said the President also commiserated with the Chairman of
the Senate Committee on Works, Ayogu Eze, on the death of his mother, Paulina Eze.
“President Jonathan urged Sen. Eze to be comforted by the
knowledge that she lived a long and very fulfilled life of notable
accomplishments in agriculture, entrepreneurship and community leadership.
“He further assured Sen. Eze of his full sympathy and
support as he prepares to lay his mother to rest at Umuida in Enugu State in
November,” the statement noted.
