Brazilian Referee For Eaglets vs Sweden Tie
The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) have appointed Brazilian referee Heber Roberto Lopes to officiate the U17 World Cup semi-final game between Nigeria and Sweden at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday.
Lopes was in charge of proceedings when the Golden Eaglets handed a 4-1 defeat to Iran in the early stage of the competition.
According to a press release he will be assisted by his two compatriots, Allesandro Rocha and Marcelo Van Grasse who incidentally served as first and second assistants in the Eaglets match against Iran.
Norbert Hauata from Tahiti and Tevita Makasini from Tonga would serve as fourth and reserve assistant referee respectively.
Lopes is one of the elite referees in the South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) and a Brazil 2014 World Cup designated official. He was at the 2003 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Finland and was named as Brazil Referee of the Year in 2009.
The Golden Eaglets would be wearing their white jerseys while the Swedes will be in yellow tops with blue shorts.
