2014 World Cup: "No Jupiter Will Stop Super Eagles" – Umeh

The first vice president of Nigeria football Federation Mike Okeke Umeh has said that no Jupiter will stop the Super Eagles of Nigeria from qualifying for Brazil 2014 after it emerged that Nigeria drew the wayla Antelopes of Ethiopia in the play-off draws that took place in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.

Umeh revealed to newsmen on Monday after the live draws that Ethiopia won't be underrated but he doesn't see them stopping Nigeria from qualifying for Brazil 2014.

"We played Ethiopia in South Africa and we defeated them 2-0, we played them in Ethiopia and we got a win and a draw also but I must say that the game won't be easy, we won't underrate Ethiopia but am very confident that there is no Jupiter that will prevent us from being in the World Cup".

Umeh maintained that ahead of the 1st leg match in Addis Ababa in October, the team will be prepared.

"Unlike before, we have been having good preparations and not the usual fire-brigade approach of before, the coach knows the players he wants to use and come October, Keshi and the team will be provided with all they need as preparation has to start in earnest"

Umeh attributed the non availability of any NFF official during the draw ceremony in Cairo to administrative lapses.

"Am not so happy that we were not present in Cairo but I think that should be an administrative error, we are African Champions and we should be there but the General Secretary should be able to throw more light on why no one was there present to represent Nigeria"

We recall that Umeh had earlier stated he will tender his resignation letter if the current African Champions fail to qualify for the biggest soccer fiesta in the world come next year.
