There was pandemonium on Wednesday when a middle-aged pregnant woman and 16 others were trapped in an elevator at Radio house, Area, 10 Abuja.
The victims, some of who were staff of the Federal Ministry of Information, were on their way to the ninth floor, when the elevator collapsed hitting the concrete basement.
Some eyewitnesses, who spoke on ground of anonymity, said the lift collapsed when public power supply was cut at 10am.
They said problem started when the rescue operation could not start immediately, as occupiers of the building could not rescue the trapped victims for close to two hours.
